Sheffield, Ohio Speed Traps

SR 301, when proceeding North from SR611 [Colorado Ave.]to US6 [Lake Road] as the roadway crests on a bridge over the railroad at the Ford Avon Lake Assembly plant, has a series of three traffic lights at plant entrances. Speed limit changes from 50MPH to 35 MPH on the north side of the bridge. Signs are hidden from view until the last moment when one comes over the bridge on the four lane highway. On a nice day with no traffic such as a Sunday all three lights often show green and are more visible than the speed signs since they are hanging above the roadway. ops hide in the driveways as a regular revenue enhancement exercise. Very very tricky situation if one is just sailing along. Cops are ever so correct but unrelenting in the quest for revenue for the village.
