Caney, OK makes greater than 50 of its annual revenue from issuing cititations. The OHP had Caney’s use of radar shut down as a speed trap city. The rescinding of the state law puts Caney back in business.

These cops hide down in holes and behind trees and with there lights off at night. Their main source of income is the highway tickets. The State shut them off the highway for 2 months and they almost went bankrupt. So Stay Clear of This Area!

Caney has had their authority to enforce traffic laws revoked by the State as reported today (12/29/06) by the Tulsa World. Caney officials expressed worry about the safety of residents and ***"the financial future of the town"*** Of course, they never expressed any such concern with the financial well-being of motorists caught in their trap.
