East York, Ontario Speed Traps
Gerrard street west of DVP
Along Gerrard street just west of DVP, there is a TPS officer who blends in with the trees and targets WB motorists as they cross The DVP. The limit is 40 but given how open it is, a lot of motorists will do way over that.
Cosburn and Coxwell
A radar trap is just inside the East York Collegiate Institute parking lot on Cosburn just east of Coxwell.
First and Second streets west of Woodbine
Officers use hand held radar guns and nab drivers coming westbound from Woodbine, often doing 60+km in a 50km zone. They get lots of business, so slow down!
Don Mills Road South of Overlea where SB DVP starts
When you go southbound on Don Mills from Overlea, you pick up speed as you go down the hill, often going faster than the posted limit of 60km. Radar cops sit at the bottom and get you. Sneaky.
Leaside bridge near Overlea Blvd.
Right at the end of the bridge going west toward Overlea Blvd. You cannot see the radar officer until it is too late, and his car is parked uphill, so you cannot see it either. Speed limit is 50km, but most people are doing 60+ over the bridge.
