Etobicoke, Ontario Speed Traps
The Queensway half way Between West Mall & Dixie Rd
Sits in Driveway turn off to Fitness Centre catching west bound traffic. There yesterday and today, before 9:00AM
Sits in Median near The West Mall Catching East Bound Traffic
on west side of Martingrove, just south of Eglinton
The cop with the laser gun aims at southbound vehicles in the 40 Km speed zone (Martingrove High School) just past Eglinton. Since you’re just leaving a 60 km zone, past a major intersection, it’s real easy to go faster than 40 Km as you get into the cop’s laser range.
Royal York just north of Dundas Street
the cops tend to sit in the apartment building entrance and catch people as they speed up under the bridge and up the hill. Generally in the mornings between 8 and 10
Westway & Sun Row
West bound on The Westway the from Treehorn to Islington is a bit of hill, and most speed demonds think of this as a drag strip. On the North Side there are a couple streets that speed traps are set up. Sun Row is the most popular, the other is Baleberry Crest. I have watched as they pick them off one after another on the 50 klm/hr road. They are well hidden behind the trees as you look down the hill.
Queensway West of Parklawn Across from Sobeys Mall
1 or 2 officers with a tri-pod parked in the sewage plant driveway. Westbound motorists are caught coming around the bend just before the mall.
