Shelburne, Ontario Speed Traps
south east corner of hwy 10 and 30th sideroad
opp black and white in driveway of store selling house trailers.
Main and Greenwood
Cops always sit in Greenwood park for speed traps. It’s a 40km/h zone, and a community safe zone, so doubled fines. Don’t bother going 10km over because they will pull you over. Also all along Main there are cops that sit at Simon street, the grassy area near Napa, and also OPP and sometimes shelburne police sit either in the Esso parking lot or NoFrills, because it’s near the 50 to 70 zone that heads out of town. They pull people over there a lot. Be sure to also slow down when coming into tow, because cops are always at Pete’s donuts, and they do keep a look out for speeders.
State Highway 10 N near Fiddle Park Lane Lane
As you drive down the hill, heading north, the cruiser sits in Fiddle Park Ln. The speed limit is 50 km/hr, but at the bottom of the hill it changes to 70 km/hr. The new housing development in the area makes this a reasonable speed limit, but as you accelerate into the 70 zone, they’ll get you!
State Highway 89 West near State Highway 10 North
Hwy 89 W leads you out of Shelburne towards Mount Forest, it’s paved, straight, and on the edge of town; with very few houses and it’s easy to get your speed up. However this is a 50km/h zone, and also a "community safe zone" which means fines are increased. The police car will sit on the south side of the Hwy, about 20 feet from where the speed limit changes too 80. They are there almost every day!
