Albany, Oregon Speed Traps
399 Pacific Blvd SW/Ferry St SW
The pacific overpass that passes in front of the train station on pacific blvd sw. Officer with LiDAR speed gun is waiting where the speed changes from 45 to 35
Riverside Drive between Oakville Rd and Hwy 34.
There are several spots the Sheriff likes to sit on Riverside drive. 1st is about 1.5 miles from Oakville Rd on the straight away before the riverside grange if your going toward Corvallis. Another is @ Walnut Dr. He will sit at the corner of Walnut and Riverside and get you as you come around the bend. The limit is 45 on that whole stretch.
SE Salem Ave @ Geary Street
An APD car will sit along SE Salem Rd at Geary St just across from the Stop and Save market. There is a gravel lot along the railroad tracks that gives him room to hide. The speed limit is 25 right there.
Scravel Hill Road
Heading into Albany from Jefferson, you come over a hill into a valley that is mostly farmland. Half way through the valley the speed limit changes to 55. The Linn County Sheriff department likes to set up a speed trap in the zone between the 45 and 55. It seems like you should be in a 55 because you are in the middle of bare farmland in the country, but you are not. They like to use unmarked SUV’s. If you see a car off of the road, assume it is a cop.
Looney Lane near State Highway 34
If you are leaving Linn Benton Community College from the front parking lot and take a right onto SW Allen Ln (it takes you the back way to HWY 34 instead of taking HWY 99) to Corvallis, there is a city of Tangent Sheriff that sits in an industrial parking lot on the left about a 1/2 mile before the HWY. He pulls over students there quite frequently.
