King Road near Tom’s Circle

East Whiteland, PennsylvaniaOct 22, 20060 Comments

Speed traps are set up in a different location within the township everyday and this is one known location within the township that a speed trap is conducted all day. An unmarked light blue plymouth reliant coupe vehicle is used as the timing vehicle that sits on tom’s circle timing vehicles only traveling east on King Rd. The officer that actually stands in the roadway and waves speeding vehicles into the driveway of a garage located approx. 1/4 mile further on the right. I know where this speed trap is since i work at Immaculata University and i’ve watched them pull people over all day. The speed limit on the roadway is 35 m.p.h. and you are only pulled over if you are traveling over 50 m.p.h.

Swedesford Road near Elbow Lane

Third known speed trap in the township that i noticed being set up while i was doing my early morning paper route years ago. Unmarked vehicle sits in a well hidden driveway along Swedesford Rd. between Conestoga Rd. (also known as Route #401) and Elbow Lane. Not sure where the officer was stationed when he pulled over speeding vehicles, possibly at Elbow Lane or the Route 202 overpass.

East Whiteland Police department traffic safety division sets up their speed trap in a different part of the township each day all day so you never know where they will be enforcing the speed limit in the township on that particular day you choose to travel through the township unless of course you are pulled over.I only know of four areas that i know for sure that they enforce the speed limit for the roadway, but this area i see them enforce the most since it is in front of where i work and i am most familiar with how the sting works. The detail is set up on king rd. at toms circle. The vehicle they use here to time vehicles is clever. It is a seized light blue plymouth coupe that you wouldn’t look twice at and that’s why they use it,the ESP (Excessive Speed Preventer) device they use to time vehicles is placed by the roadway and when your vehicle passes by toms circle you hear it whistle (only if you are doing the speed limit) and it instantly gives the officer in the vehicle the speed you are traveling. The speed limit for the roadway is 35 m.p.h. and the officers give you 15 m.p.h. above that so you will only be pulled over by the officer waiting down the road in the parking lot of the maintenance garage across from immaculata university if you are going 16 miles above the speed limit or above. They make alot of money in their township from their speed details everyday so consider yourself warned!
