East Derry Road near Hershey Country Club

Hershey, PennsylvaniaJan 18, 20110 Comments

When heading toward Palmyra on East Derry Road, just after you pass the Hershey Country Club they like to place an orange (surprisingly hard to notice if you’re not looking) battery pack on the shoulder of the road to power a through beam sensor system. You will never see the police until it’s too late. Once they set up for the day, they’ll tag car after car. Maybe out of respect for the club, they seem to concentrate on traffic heading toward Palmyra.

Rt 322 between Hummelstown exits

Hershey, PennsylvaniaSep 10, 20100 Comments

Derry Twp police often patrol /set traps along thesection of Rt. 322 between Hummelstown exits. Typically, they will sit at the top of on-ramps or in bushes along the West bound (Lower Dauphin HS) side. However, they will set up LIDAR/ENDAR traps along the actual road (under overpasses or infront of "abandoned" looking cars). SLOW DOWN!

Wood Road

Hershey, PennsylvaniaSep 25, 20080 Comments

Wood Road runs through farms and woodland on the Harrisburg side of town, parallel to Rts. 322/422. The speed limit is 25 mph and 35 seems about normal on this rural road. Police lurk in driveways and behind barns. They are unforgiving and have a real money game going on here; the district justice is a former local cop, so don’t plan on eliciting any sympathy from him.
