Vaudreuil, Quebec Speed Traps
There is a MOBILE photo radar just as you are coming into the Construction ZONE…the speed drops to 80 Km from 100 Km…The photo radar is/was in a Quebec Roads Dept. Van…For your info. Fine is as follows.FINE $210.00 COSTS $69.00 & Contribution $14.00 TOTAL $293.00…No points..
NOTE: It is not always there….
Coming off 401 /20 highway from Toronto to Montreal, speed limit falls from 100Km to 50Km
The speed limit is 50 km/h as it is an urban boulevard, and then it changes to 100 km/h maximum and 60 km/h minimum (not a typo) about 300 m after the intersection with Route 342. They can be anywhere from Avenue Ranger (where the McDonalds is) until the 100 km/h sign, on one occasion they were right besides that sign and were ticketing starting at 60 km/h! Enforcement is semi-frequent and can happen literally anytime. There used to be a speed trap going East in that area, but it appears to no longer be in operation, they gave so many tickets over the last 10-15 years that no-one except the odd non-local driver goes over the limit there.
Going with the traffic, radar may be pointing eastbound in the morning, westbound late PM. The westbound part is the most deadly one as you’re coming off the bridge at 120km/h (go with the flow speed) and the cop will enforce as low as 110km/h
Hides behind vegetation and in Business parking lots and catches you in the curve before you even have a chance to spot him.
