it is a school zone – they monitor it 1/2 hour before school is out and they give $200 tickets, i just got one. the school was 3 blocks from there and school wasn’t out yet, but the light was on and i got a $200 ticket for going 39 in a 45 (20mph school zone)

Comments:
No offense but if it was marked a school zone it is usually also marked "when flashing" or has specific conditions. If the beacons were flashing or you were over the posted school zone limit when the law applied I can't really see how you are going to win this one.

NEVER speed in the school areas when those lights are flashing no matter what. It's usually double points and fees just because of the school violation. Even though the school is a few blocks off the main, it's an Elem. and I often see small children crossing w/o parents. Otherwise, drive what you can safely.

I agree that some of the school zones in this city are set up for speed traps.
