14 mile road westbound at Coolidge
Royal Oak Police and Oakland County Sheriff are running an amazing speed trap immediately south of 14 mile road on Coolidge. The area has been under construction for months now, and as of this week confusing signage tells drivers traveling westbound on 14 mile not to make a left turn onto Coolidge South. However, normally this turn is allowed and drivers are distracted by the various signs (some covered, some temporary, some incorrect) as they wind through the narrow passage under the railroad bridge. Many make a left turn in spite of the signs and Royal Oak Police and Oakland County Sheriff are ready to pounce. When I drove by today I saw five police cars on southbound Coolidge, one cruising, and four having pulled over three victims. Blue lights were everywhere. Strangely none of the police were directing traffic or doing anything to fix the signage.
