54th Street Street near 18th Street

This one runs like clockwork. Several times per month they put a cop out in the median behind the trees and bushes they planted for just this reason. He tags them and then a caravan of cops on a side street give you a ticket.

The kicker is this is right after the exit from the interstate so you’ve got some good momentum, the speed limit is 35mph, and there are 3 schools in a row, so the speed limit goes 70mph (interstate), 45mph, 35mph, 5mph, 35mph, 5mph, 35mph, 5mph, 35mph. No matter what you do, you’re screwed. May as well go 5mph from the interstate to 9th street. On top of that there are some construction barriers (not workers, just barriers – year round) so they’ll double the ticket on top of whatever extra they give you for speeding in a school zone.

I’ve never been snagged there, but on a bad day you’ll see 7-10 cars pulled over on the side streets.
