ALL of Friendship Ln. between Hwy 16 and Hwy 290

Fredericksburg, TexasApr 27, 20102 Comments

This pastoral 4 lane, divided hwy-like road has a posted speed limit of 40 mph and that is enforced with ticket after ticket written by local law officers.

Comments:
This part of Friendship Ln was created as a bypass so that 18 wheelers and other heavy trucks and farm equipment would use this road to avoid adding to the already congested traffic in downtown Fredericksburg. They need to raise the speed limit to 50 MPH from US 290 to Tx 16 to make this bypass more attractive to truckers so that they would want to use this cutoff.

I LIVE on Friendship Lane. It is NOT a "speed trap". The signs posting the speed limit of 40mph are locate about every quarter mile along the entire length. Those whining about a speed trap got caught speeding in a well-marked 40mph zone. Very similar to the whining and complaint of the folks receiving $200 tickets for exceeding 20 mph in the VERY well-marked school zone along S. Adams St., intersecting Friendship lane.
