Fredericksburg, Texas Speed Traps
Most signs now show 60mph with two signs showing 70mph.
This pastoral 4 lane, divided hwy-like road has a posted speed limit of 40 mph and that is enforced with ticket after ticket written by local law officers.
The posted speed limit is 55 mph and does not increase to 70 mph until past the entrance to Lady Bird Park. This portion of Hwy 16 is ticketed in Both directions. Motorists coming from Kerrville need to be aware of the speed limit change to 55 mph from 70 mph.

The ticket was issued as a result of radar at 7 a. m. when there was no traffic at all. Given that the vehicle had just left a traffic signal, the stated rate of speed was impossible. Several discrepancies noted on the ticket– the officer reported heavy traffic and 7 p.m.
