The speed limit was lowered in 2006 from 40 for which the road was engineered to 35 for the first few hundred yards and then drops to 30 and then to 25 once you get into Bay Ridge. It is enforced regularly by county police during daylight hours after about 7:30 am. There are several stake-out spots along this route. Once inside Bay Ridge, the name changes to Faragut Rd. and the community association pays to enforce the 25 mph speed limit, usually afternoons and evenings till 10 or 12 pm.
