Beach Street near Granada Boulevard

Holly Hill, FloridaOct 04, 20071 Comments

Starting from the Granada Bridge Rt(40)- heading South on S.Beach Street, speed limit is 35 mph. Road turns into Riverside Drive, continuing through Holly Hill and the speed limit turns to 25 mph. I’m told 1 mile over 25 mph will get you a ticket. Many tickets given out there!

Comments:
Beach Street at Granada Boulevard (HWY 40) is in the city of Ormond Beach (by the way, the Birthplace of Speed.... at least on the beach sand). Traveling south at the Holly Hill city limit the speed drops to a casual, relaxing 25 mph as you enjoy the view and take in the sights and sounds of the beautiful Halifax River (roll down your windows!). River sounds are better than sirens!. Volusia County Sheriffs, Florida Highway Patrol and the City of Holly Hill train for radar on this stretch of road. If you do 35 mph it saves you only 12 seconds of time from one end of the city to the others. This is a residential area so be couteous and cautious. Speeding is not worth it, especially with the majestic old trees that are close to the historically designated scenic route.
