Briggs Chaney Road

The speed limit is enforced with cameras here. Be sure to watch your speed!

Comments:
Typical normal speed for Briggs Chaney West of Rt 29 is around 40-45 mph. The speed limit is 35 but as of this writing (January 2011) you will not be in any trouble when heading West until after you cross Good Hope Rd. Slow down when you see the sign on the left for the Jain Center (this is before Cloverly Elementary). The speed limit changes from 35 mph to 30 mph. Take it seriously from this point to New Hampshire Ave - they mean business. If you're in traffic, don't tailgate. The cameras have less than 10 mph tolerance. When turning onto Briggs Chaney from New Hampshire, don't exceed 30 mph - you can safely resume normal speed when the signs go back to 35 mph.
