I was coming into Corrigan TX from the North on 59. I was doing 60MPH outside the city limits. 60 in a 55. I was driving in traffic with 4 other vehicles. Police officer was outside of town still on the divided highway. He turned his lights on and got in behind me. I pulled over. When PO came up to my truck he said i was speeding, I asked how fast i was going, he said i should no that. I told him i DID and i was not speeding. He said that the city limits was 45 MPH. I told him i was not in the city limits when he turned around and turned his lights on. He then stated again it is only 45 in the city limits. When he gave me my CITATION it was for 70 in a 55. The Police officer flat out lied on his citation. I don’t mind payinig a ticket when i get caught. I do speed sometimes. It is a terrible thing to know that the police are pulling over out of state plates and citing them for speeding even when they are not. It is cheeper to pay then to try to fight it and take off the multiple days off work to fight it. A week later when i cam back through town he had another carpulled over. Corrigan Texas is definately a speed trap. Only difference is the police do not care if they lie about your speed.
