Going south on Hoxey Rd (Gage St/Co 2) out of Somonauk the speed is 25 mph and is enforced vigorously. Police hide in the local park as well as along side the phone company switching building. There is a tendency to go faster in this section as the speed limit increases soon after the town.
Going north INTO Somonauk the same speed trap exists. Speed limits rapidly drop from 55 to 45 to 35 to 25. It’s at the 25 mph speed area that the tickets are issued. Recommend slowing down alongside Lake Holiday and observing speed limits.

Again, not a speed trap. When you are heading south, there is a 25 MPH speed zone sign just south of LaSalle Street. Then, there is another, less than one block south just around the curve, right before you pass the "phone company switching building." Then it turns to 35 MPH after the park, makes sense, why would you do more than 25 MPH past a park. Then, the 35 MPH turns into a 45 MPH, not a 55 MPH.
When coming in, it DOES NOT go from 55 MPH to 35 MPH. It goes from 45 MPH to 35 MPH. the 55 MPH ends nearly 1 1/2 miles south of town near N46th Road, south of Lake Holiday and south of Classon Estates.
