Crowley Dr & Old Denton Rd

Carrollton, TexasJun 08, 20092 Comments

10am 02/23/09 Crowley Dr. / Old Denton Rd. Official posted speed is 40 mph on Old Denton Rd. CPD motorcop sits and waits on Crowley Dr. for speedsters. Once the Old Denton Rd. is done, the CPD motorcop will return to this area to catch speedsters for ticket bonuses. Another area the motorcop likes is the Jackson Rd. / Old Denton Rd. and waits on Jackson Rd. to catch speedsters on Old Denton Rd. When is the city going to complete the middle strip of Old Denton Rd. ? The road area at Whitlock / Old Denton Rd. is a mess !!!

Today, 4/19/10, at 12:24 I received a speeding (first in over more than several years) in the amount of $165 for allegedly going a lightening fast 46 mph on the frontage road where the posted speed limit is 35 mph just south of the Sandy Lake exit on I35. At exactly 12:35 (11 minutes later) another hapless motorist was stopped and at 12:52 (17 minutes later) a third hapless motorist (a Lennox work truck) was stopped. That's about $165 x 3 = $395 for 30 minutes of police work in just one location. Forget real crimes. It's all about the City of Carrollton generating revenue so that "rent to illegals" lawsuit gets paid for. I plan to fight it and will have to visit the city again. Ugh! Any advice would be greatly appreicated.

I know that particular stretch of frontage road is a problem, but I do have one correction.....the City of Carrollton is not involved in the lawsuit against renting to illegal aliens - the City of Farmers Branch is.....
