Elm Road near Rosedaol Road

Princeton, New JerseyJun 25, 20073 Comments

The Princeton police department typically park on any of the streets adjoining Elm/Great Road between Route 206 and the driveway of Princeton Day School (PDS). Note: The downhill segment of Great Road has a 40mph limit that drops to 25mph @ the Mountain Avenue intersection (where Great Road becomes Elm Road) The enforcement type is typically Ka band radar.

NOTE: I have never been stopped but just want to warn fellow motorist to slow down in this area.

It's Rosedale Road. The police are in that stretch of Elm and Great Road, without question, anytime, all the time. Day/Night, you name it. Portable handheld radar enable them to park deep into a driveway and stand along the road and run it. They are checking that vehicles are complying with the posted speed limits. There are joggers, walkers, old and young milling about along that stretch. Side streets obscured by trees, hidden driveways, people driving at all different skill levels. And at night there are deer galore. (Princeton has a firearm discharge restriction ordinance making the township a safe haven for thousands of deer who move about nocturnally.) So ... Be careful and please be patient.

Its a main road which should have a speed limit of 40, not 25.

Yes, I got my "trumped" speeding ticket on Elm Rd., just after turning off Stockton St. Cops often hide two blocks in on Allison St. with radar gun. They LOVE to target commercial truck drivers like myself. I could not find the registration for the company truck when the officer asked, so he handed me a $180 fine that I had to pay in order to keep points off my license. BTW. . .I was supposedly doing 40mph in a 25mph zone. . .
