Golf Links and Houghton

Tucson, ArizonaAug 06, 20141 Comments

TPD watches the intersection from Quik Trip property and stops anyone turning right from Golf Links on to Houghton if they don’t come to a complete stop in the dedicated turn lane. I’ve never been stopped there but seen numerous people snared by this revenue generating stop sign. Very little pedestrian activity in the area.

Comments:
I believe before the upgrade of this intersection that the sign was a Yield. When my wife came to the intersection Golflinks was a green so it doesn't make sense that this sign is a Stop sign. She came to to what is called a California stop, almost a complete stop but the wheels were slightly rolling. It is only a money generating trap used by the TPD to make money. I believe this little error costs over $200. And the officer was kind of nasty to boot. This was at night so it was hard to see the cruiser sitting there waiting for a dangerous driver.
