Harrison Boulevard near 32nd Street
The city monitors and enforces slower speeds during specific school hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 3:30 PM) in a school zone which runs approximately from 32nd Street to the 3400 block of Harrison Blvd. Prime time appears to be from approximately 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM, 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Flashing lights denote reduced speed zone and times. A crossing guard was killed in this zone in 2006. A Radar-equipped unit sits at or near the Mt. Ogden school parking lot, or the first driveway immediately to the south, primarily monitoring northbound traffic. Backup units, occasionally include motorcycle units, handle the ticketing, with multiple stops daily. Fines are expensive.
