Highway 51 South, just South of Hiway 385 intersection
Millington PD sit in black sided cars in the dark, in the median strip shooting north. As you come off the light at 385, the speed limit is 40, then 500 feet later is 45 then 500 feet after that is 55 mph. From where they sit, they are shooting downhill at approaching traffic. They will ticket at 6 mph over the posted limit of 40 mph. No questions asked, no explanation given. Judge won’t allow any lee-way. There are NO city limits signs going either direction. If you’re new to town, watch out.

They prey on working citizens heading south toward Memphis. At 8:00 AM, you will not find a police car anywhere along Highway 51. I have quit spending any money in Millington.
They got me doing 47 right at the 45 mph sign. Smartass had to write me up for too dark of window tint while he was there. Guess he didn't have anything else to do at 5:20 in the morning. Went to the courthouse and parked right next to a Millington Police detective with windows so dark you couldn't see inside the car. Ok for them, but not me. Was given the option of paying the ticket without going to court and having it show up on my record. This way Millington doesn't have to split the revenue with the State of Tennessee, even though the violation happened on a state hiway. Crooked, crooked, crooked town.
