Returning home (NC) from my first trip to Myrtle Beach, north on Highway 52 after leaving Society Hill, nothing around just trees/shrubs but cop hiding. I was lost and looking for road signs…saw 45 mph but Never 35 mph, I was going 45 – honestly. Gave me a ticket for 15 miles over for $250, I called SC attorney and his office said, don’t worry, we get about 200 of these every Monday morning. They even knew the officer’s name. Paid attorny $250, got it dropped to 9 miles over and $150 fine. Said probably would not report to NC DMV. Cost me $400 -Ruined my trip.
