Driving back home from a family T-day in Houston with my wife and 3 year old daughter. White mini-van and a black travel pod. Cruising at the 70 mph posted speed limit when came up on 3 18 wheelers coming onto the road. One veered into my lane so I made a quick move to go around. Once around, the speed limit sign was 45 so I quickly dropped my speed. The speed changes 5 times in this little town. We were almost through town when I got pulled over. The officer said he was following me all the way which was not true. I explained the conditions and reminded him that I followed the limit to a Tee at every change in speed. He questioned me on where I worked and any warrants. I am a LT. in the USCG and work for the VA and this obviously enraged the officer. He came back after 20 minutes with a citation. He also has his spot light trained directly on my daughter. This is a very bad spot so beware. I am out of town, so they conveniently don’t offer defensive driving so I have to pay.
