Horseshoe Bar Road near Interstate 80

Loomis, CaliforniaAug 13, 20071 Comments

Just east of Interstate 80 the speed limit drops to 30 mph. If you slow to the limit you are tailgated constantly. There is one sherriff’s deputy that sit’s waiting with his lidar to catch commuters in the morning.

Comments:
.3 to .5 miles SE of Hwy 80 here seems to be the most often place where they're set up. Single Placer County Sheriff deputy (white and green car, contracted to city of Loomis) using hand-held lidar (laser) while sitting in his car. The speed limit here was raised from 30 to 35mph near the end of 2010, but it's still pretty easy to go over that here and the deputy is apparently not at all tolerant. Lot of activity right near the intersection of Horseshoe Bar and Laird. Observed during morning commute hours on my daily commute.
