Hwy 100.This is the highway one takes to South Padre Island
As you enter the City from either directions, the speed limit drops considerably, City police will stop you for 5 mph over spedd limit. Beware during peak times, spring break, labor day, etc..

I drove through Los Fresnos 4 times on 7/21/11 and each time a car was stopped by the police.
