Los Fresnos, Texas Speed Traps

Speed drops very little signs

The predators in the Los Fresnos police department stalk this area looking for out of towers going to or coming from Padre. They will stop you for anything. I got stopped and was issued a ticket for not having a front license plate, which I have been driving throughout Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida without for years. I asked if it was possible to get a warning, or if I could send a picture once it was attached, since I had the plate but there is no bracket on the car. The officer said no, to fight it I had to come back in 6 weeks for the trial, with the plate attached and it would be dismissed with just court costs. This cost me $175 in Los Fresnos.

Leaving South Padre Island me and my family was heading into Los Fresnos on our way out when I notice the speed limits drop to 45mph, (I slowed), then it dropped to 35pmh, (I slowed). I came to a red light. A police cruiser proceeded to pull behind me and run my plates, observed my family in the vehicle, then turned on his lights. I figured he just wanted to see who I was since I was from another city. He told me to step out the vehicle, then he TOLD me I was speeding doing 57 in a 45. What the what! So I will be calling the Chief of Police to complain as well as filing a complaint on the officer. I will suggest everyone to do so. I went straight to the courthouse at 200 N.Brazil, Los Fresnos to plea not guilty and I will be filing a complaint on the officer.

I was going east on 100 throu Los fresnos july 23. When I was halfway across the tiny town when i notice a police car coming from the opposite direction at the other end of town, lights already flashing. He passes me, by this time Im at the speedlimt, does a ckfast Uturn pulls me over near the east end of town. The officer tells me I was clocked doing 41 in a 30. I had not seen any other officers when I entered the town and the last spd limit sign I saw was 45, but was safely slowing down (41 from 45). How did the officertown know how fast I was going from the other end of the town??

As you enter the City from either directions, the speed limit drops considerably, City police will stop you for 5 mph over spedd limit. Beware during peak times, spring break, labor day, etc..
