Hwy 53 towards Hwy 77
speed limit drops from 70 to 55 as you are nearing Hwy 77. Coming from Hwy 77 they sit right at the speed limit sign, you can not be over 55 until after you pass the sign, even though defensive driving tells you if you are close enough to read the sign than that is the speed limit. Now on the reverse of this, They also like to sit exactly at the 30 mph sign downtown coming in on Hwy 77, if you wait until you reach the speed limit sign you get a ticket, you have to already be at 30 by the time you reach the sign!

Even though this post was written a couple years ago I can confirm the same thing happened to me in Jan 2016. Most of the other towns on 77 are 45MPH per town and have either a yellow or red sign. This town is clearly looking for revenue in a dishonest way.
