I-20 west-bound service road at Cooper St exit

Arlington, TexasMar 15, 20102 Comments

The west-bound I-20 exit for Cooper St has a speed trap at the end of the exit ramp. I-20 traffic is going 65mph and at the end of the exit ramp it changes to 40mph. The service road is a 3 lane, one-way road so it seems like it should be much faster. Multiple motorcycle police often watch this spot.

Comments:
I use the exit and it is dangerous because people wont slow down to the posted speed limit when others are trying to get onto the service road coming out of restaurants and the mall. I think it is great that law enforcement watch this area. Furthermore, if you don't want to drive according to it...you deserve a ticket if not more for putting innocent drivers at risk of harm!

I agree with the above posting. That is a dangerous place with lots of heavy traffic. Slowing to 40 MPH is not uncommon for such an exit. The road splits soon after the exit and lots of cars are changing lanes, so a slower speed is a good idea. I live near this spot and travel it often, never having considered it a speed trap.
