This is a Profile Trap not a speed trap. On any given day the County Sheriff’s Department will be out in force profiling the corridor. If you have Illinois plates they will come out and run directly behind you making you nervous as possible until you touch the white line or go over or under the posted speed limit of 70 mph. Then they will light you up. After they have you stopped they will ask for their own curriosity if they can search your car. If you refuse then they will call in the K-9 to try to get a hit on your vehicle. They do bust a lot of drug runners by doing this but they also harrass a lot of honest people in the name of law enforcement. I travel this road daily and see this happening nearly every day. It is wrong and they continue doing it.
