Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Speed Traps
I-40 West of Morgan Rd
OKC Motorcycle cop effectively hides and springs a trap as the speed limit drops from 70 to 65 mph. I got nailed for doing 81 on the east bound side of the road as I still thought I was in a 70 mph zone. (I had exited the road as an OK Highway Patrol and his victim nearly ran into me as I was merging from the Kilpatrick. That’s the reason I had forgotten I was in a 65 as I reentered the freeway.)
I urge CAUTION driving anywhere on an interstate in Oklahoma City. Try and keep to less than 10 over.
Meridian between i40 and will Rogers airport
The speed changes between 45 to 35 quickly. Many officers patrol this area for people going above 35.
i 40 east bound by i 35 south/north split
just passed the cowboy museum and remington park on the interstate going east towards i 35 north/south they hide around a corner in the grass about 50 ft from the road so you cant see them until its too late.
On I-44 from SW 89th to NW 39th in both directions
Two motorcycle OHP working in tandem to pull over motorists all day along this stretch. They like to hide behind the concrete barriers in the middle of the lanes. They’ve been at it all summer long. They don’t give warnings.
NW 150th between Portland and Macarthur
An unmarked silver car hides either in the Monticello neighborhood entrance on the south side of 150th or on the north side of 150th in one of the new Lone Oak additions entrances. I travel up and down this road several times per day and he has someone pulled over almost every time I pass through. This cop has been working this location with much success apparently for months though the location has been worked less consistently for the past 4 years by various unmarked cars and motorcycle cops.
