I-435 bridge

Randolph, MissouriMay 14, 20104 Comments

Less than an hour ago I was issued a ticket by officer (scribble??) for expired tags. He also signed it for me (?) as “served”. The reason that Im posting this is because I wasn’t even in Randolph. Not only was I pulled over in KCMO, but the officer didn’t even get behind me to look at my tags until the middle of the bridge (southbound). Besides operating outside his jurisdiction, he wrote that it occured near 4356 Randolph Rd…over a mile away. When confronted, Officer claimed that he turned on his rear takedown lights way back in Randolph before the bridge. He was on I-435 southbound. I had just merged into heavy rush hour traffic right before/on the bridge. Anyone familiar with that on ramp knows what I’m talking about.

Comments:
I believe the interstate is in Randolph? I see signs for it until halfway over the river? What's the problem?

I checked the Kansas City, Missouri GIS mapping system and they show the city limit just west of the Interstate. Looks like Randolph has northbound and southbound I-435 from about Hwy 210 to midway across the river.

They do have half the bridge in the city limits. Also, there is no shoulder on the bridge, so how was the officer suppossed to stop you in rush hour traffic without a shoulder?? Get your tags fixed and you would not get stopped in the first place.

The problem is that these officers simply enjoy harassing drivers, even when they are law abiding. They have nothing better to do than pull over drivers and harass and bully them just for the fun of it. I will avoid Randolph at ALL COSTS, which is sad, because now the Ameristar casino is losing business because the surrounding police officers are so out of control.
