The officers (3 in the department) sit on the federally funded highway and write traffic tickets to speeders or as little as 3mph over the speed limit. 8mph over got me a ticket for $165.00. If you choose the fight the ticket note who the judge is..the Mayor of Washington. Like the mayor is going to give up income for the city. Population 1300 < yet it is estimated they bring in over $350,000.00 a year in traffic fines. Now I go 5mph above the minimum speed limit and I wave at the officer as I go past.
