Interstate 395 near Exit Number 95

Putnam, ConnecticutNov 10, 20071 Comments

Patrol Cars park on the grass median, sometimes 2 at a time, facing in opposite directions to catch both North & Southbound traffic. The location is about 1/2 mile south of the Exit 95 overpass on Interstate 395.

It is interesting driving in Ct.,folks! Not bad, just interesting.Be aware, though, of the use of aircraft! In places along #95 there are signs (politely) notifying motorists of this.Years ago I was driving along #95,northbound,and was just approaching a right-and merge.Well i had just noticed a lovely pristine white Porsche Cabriolet just about at the apex of the ramp,at the same time that I noticed a Ct.State patrol car entering that same ramp,at the bottom. Please note that I had been well above the posted speed limit all this time......As i saw the the Porsche was when I (immediately after) noticed the State patrol car,who immediately pulled over the Porsche.....Also this was when I instantly applied the brakes! So no the Porsche was not speeding I was.I am guessing that the closeness of our two cars confused the radar;i was nearing the same merge as the Porsche;since i immediately my brakes the officer must have thought that the Porsche had been speeding;this snappy vehicle was certainly capable of the speed (at which i was driving, earlier.Just be alert, folks! Yes there are speed zones but when two vehicles are merging the radar only recognizes a speeder not always which vehicle was speeding.G,day!
