Highway Patrol will be waiting for you anywhere through the city of Weed CA off of I-5, so back off the gas and actually go less than the speed limit because they won’t show you the speed set on the radar gun if you ask nicely. The officer will say something to the effect that it will compromise his and your safety to have you out of the car on a busy interstate to look at his radar gun. My speedometer said 75mph and my buddies GPS said we were cruising at 75mph and the officer said I was going 88mph and he would cut me a brake and make the ticket for 80mph. Some brake that was!

Interstate 5 Weed, CA Should have checked this site before - CHP sits in the median in between the bluffs throughout the Weed area. As previously noted - the officer will not show you the actual radar display. In my case I was passing a semi at 75, when he pulled me over he said I was doing 86 MPH! When I politely asked to see the display he refused for safety reasons. He wrote the ticket for "exceeding the posted limit" with no actual speed on the ticket - that was my brake....

Mine was similar... I was the only one on the highway,,, crowning the crest of the hill I saw him,,,actually startled me.. I'm not even sure if I was speeding. He said I was traveling 88 mph. But would not show me the radar gun. He cut me the same brake. Wrote the ticket for 80mph. Said 81 mph would cost me cosiderably more,',,so i sould be happy that he was being so nice to me. Sounds like their favorite number. They know most people are travelers in that area and will not be back to contest it in court. Court fees and traffic school fees took a huge part of my paycheck that month. I'll be darned if I let it reflect on my GOOD driving record.
