Interstate 59 Southbound near State Route 174
Traveling Southbound on I-59 past the AL174/Springville exit there is a wooded median. Just as the median clears there is spot where AL State Troopers run radar any day-any time. The Speed Limit is Interstate Standard 70 mph, but the troopers tend to not give much latitude…tickets for 75 are not uncommon.

This is a on-again, off-again location for State Troopers, and has been for at least 10 years. City of Springville rarely use it, as the city (by state law) cannot give speeding tickets on the interstate. Alabama has a state law that prohibits local police from giving speeding tickets on interstates, unless the city has greater than 25,000 population. However, that doesn't mean they are prohibited from writing other infractions (like above 15 mph over posted limit as reckless driving).
