Broome County Sheriffs and/or New York State Police will park on the official only U-Turn just before the exit (assuming you’re coming from Scranton, PA). There is a large set of trees that the sheriff deputies like to point their radar guns through, whereas the New York State Police do not aim radar guns through the trees. Interestingly, the state police appear to have started using VASCAR here. There will typically be two state police cars at the bunker when the state police are waiting for speeders, so the sight of the state police gives some time for aware motorists travelling 80 MPH to slow down to the 65 MPH limit.
