I was a nevada state trooper in nevada for 22 years. I was stationed in searchlight nevada for 14 years. Searchlight is not a speed trap. The main road in searchlight was only 35 feet wide, until last year when it was widened to four lanes with a center turn lane. If entering searchlight from you are going up hill not down hill, when you come up over the top are in the town before you can see it.The speed limit signs are not 100 years apart, they are 500 feet apart. You a told that the speed limit is slower a half a mile before you get to the first sign, at the top of the hill you will see blinking yellow light, that you can see for over a half a mile. If come into town from the north you told thatthe speed limit is lowered ahead a half mile before you get to the sign and there is a blinking yellow light to warn you over 3/4 of a mile before you get to the sign.

Former officer, you obviously dont know what a speed trap is then. Of course I'm sure you think you've never written an unjustified ticket either. This spot is definetly a trap, anyone that has driven through it will tell you that. 25mph is waaaaaaayyyy to slow, unless you are getting revenue from it I guess. A little honesty from former cops and current police would be nice for once.
