Interstate Peachtree Ind. Blvd. near Interstate I-285 East bound

Doraville, GeorgiaJul 11, 20072 Comments

On I-285 East bound from GA400, usually there is police that patrol the area where the interstate crosses Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Though most cars on I-285 are ok to run close to 70mph, the Doraville police are more than happy to ticket for running over the posted 65mph limit in their area. The west bound side is also monitored, but believe the East side is watched more. However, have seen Doraville officers as far down as Chamblee-Tucker exit waiting for speeders.

Comments:
Doraville has no areas of Interstate roadways that are 65 mph. This location [E/B on I-285 near Peachtree Industrial Blvd] is a 55 mph speed zone, so going 70 will likely get you a ticket. Yes, the Doraville cops sit there and shoot Lidar or Radar quite often, and fill their quota very quickly. DUIVAVEN www.GeorgiaCriminalDefense.com www.Absolutely-Not-Guilty.com

The part of I285 which passes over Peachtree Industrial is a trap for the Spencer-Pass Law. Does anyone have any experience with getting a ticket for not moving over to another lane as you pass a patrol car parked there? I was pulled over by one of two police cars parked there with no emergency going on at all. It was on a Saturday morning with light traffic. They were definitely out to write tickets. When I go to court the fine will be $676! I would appreciate any tips I could use in front of the judge.
