Portsmouth police cars tend to hide in a small dirt patch on the side of Lang Road on the Portsmouth/Rye town line on the weekend around noon. Coming from Route 1, you will most likely be stopped as there is little time to react. If coming from Rye towards Rt. 1, you’re done, because the officer usually has his gun pointed in your lane of traffic as you come over a tall hill. Portsmouth cops show little mercy to speeders, so watch out. P.S. I haven’t checked it out, but a Ports. cruiser is seen driving from Rt. 1 towards Rye on Lang Road at 7:30 am every day, so watch yourself.
