Portsmouth, New Hampshire Speed Traps
Leaving Rye on Rt 4 where it turns into Boston Harbor Road crossing the bridge. Cops sit on the Portsmouth side and pick you off as you come over the bough of the hill on the Rye side and start across the bridge. By the time you see them it is too late. Have seen them operating on the bridge after dark.
troopers set up radar along 95 at mile marker 1,7 and 11. they also set up 2 cars in the breakdown lane,1 with the trunk open and a trooper using a radar gun,he closes the trunk when he has caught someone, displaying the lights and points to the drivers to pull over while the second car is there as a chase vehicle. WATCH OUT FOR CARS WITH OPEN TRUNKS!!
Portsmouth Police like to hide in the Corpus Christi Church Parking Lot. Varies daytime and nighttime. Speed limit 25 MPH. They usually position the cruiser further back in the lot so it is hard to see from the road.
They sit at the old "Hovey’s" photo and get people coming over the Rt. 1 bypass bridge and coming from downtown Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Police like to park in front of Ricci Construction on Banfield Rd and try to catch people speeding, leaving work from the industrial parks
