On the west side of the road is where they hide nx to the school – I live out there – very bad place to be. They make their money by taken advantage of people. Can not trust the the local police at all. Most officers patrolling grew up in Lawtey/Starke area. Very small town with the 2nd to last in the school system for high schools (in Florida) – Drive below speed limit and do stop at any of the stores. Lots of unmarked -They also go out of their way for seatbelt checks and full stop sign stops. The Subway is even owned by the police.
Been in many cities in Florida for all my life – Lawtey is by far the worst . This city will never grow

First of all Lawtey is not a speed Trap,45 MPH is the Lowest speed posted on 301. It used to be 35 about 10 years back, The Lawtey Law enforcement are very polite Gentalmen/Ladies. they allow everyone 10 Miles an hour over... The Speed Limit is posted, follow it and you will not get A speeding Ticket. now that's just the way it is Point Blank. now Starke/Waldo are the ones you need to follow the signs close. P.S. Speeding is speeding. Be an alert driver, forget the distractions and concentrate on your driving, speed signs, motorcycles, etc. 40 yrs driving, I drive at speed limit plus a few miles over and never had a ticket. I put 40,000 a year in florida and COPS and Deputy Are there when I need them. And Subway in not owned by the police. Ownership is a deputy, not police who needs additional income because pay is low.
