East bound on 14a speed limit goes from 70 mph to 30 mph . Local cop was sitting at the edge of town . I was following a Wyoming car but he stopped me. 41 in a 30 fine $152 thanks Wyoming we had a great vacation enjoying your state but the hell with Byron. We have friends that ranch by Cody and they said Byron is famous for ticketing. Wyoming will not be getting any more of my money. If officials can’t get control of this town shame on you.

I know that this is to late for you, but maybe it can help others if they know. I am a retired police officer with over 30 years of experience in running radar and going to court for speeding tickets. I am not an attorney and what I am going to say is not meant to be legal advise. The town police of Byron are running a speed trap by checking the speed of motorists coming into the town from the east and also the west. What they are tracking with their radar is the speeds of motorists traveling outside of their own city limits. According to Wyoming case law and by state law they only have jurisdiction only within their city limits. There is case law on this that deals with a University of Wyoming Campus Police Officer who followed a suspected drunk driver off campus, outside of his jurisdiction, where he made a arrest of the driver for DUI. The case was tossed out because he was out of his LEGAL jurisdiction. Now the Byron police like to sit on either the east side checking traffic coming from the east or the west end tracking traffic coming from the west. The traffic that they are tracking are all out of their jurisdiction

Refuse to pay the ticket and ask for a police report which is your right as it is the key to your defense. The police refused to do a report when they issued me a ticket. When they failed to provide a report I asked the court to dismiss the ticket as I was not afforded my constitutional rights to a fair hearing, because I was not able to prepare my case without the report. The court and prosecuting attorney is also part of the problem. The Judge is a janitor at a hospital who knows nothing about the law. I never refused to appear in court all I wanted was a report which would have made the officer either tell the truth of where he was sitting, the direction his radar was pointing and who he was tracking and where they were at when he first saw you anything else he would have been committing perjury if he reported anything else. The Judge told me to come to court in the morning so that he could rule on my motions and then we would go to trial. The Judge was punished by the Wyoming Supreme Court for ethics violations. The ticket was dismissed. Just fight the ticket in the same way.
