Main Street in the middle of town

Byron, WyomingMar 17, 20102 Comments

Tagged me for 36 in a 30 zone going west through town ( to Yellowstone ). The ticket is supposed to be mailed to their City Hall ( not a court ). When I offered to mail it to the court, I was very forcefully told that I’d mail it to the City Hall. Same as another poster, a car with Wyoming tags was ahead of me traveling visibly faster than I and got a pass. Watch what you say and admit to, they use video ( with audio ) cameras in their cars.

The speed limit in Byron is 30mph and 20 in school Zone when flashing. Don't speed in any school Zone in WY or you will get nailed. If you are under 35 mph during normal hrs the cop most likely wont even pull you over but may flash his lights or signal you to slow down. If you are going 35mph you will most likely be pulled over and your information checked if polite and respectful, they usually wont right the ticket unless your running 38 mph or more. But your info had better be up to date. The speed limit is clearly marked before town with a reduce speed sign and then the speed limit sign. If your over the speed limit after the second sign you had better be on the brakes hard. But Clearly marked and visible, if your over 37 mph you can hardly call it a speed trap. You wont even get away with 7 mph on the highway so you just as well consider the whole state a trap. If your in a bigger vehicle keep it within 3 mph.

We were traveling west, and commented that we needed to slow down after we saw the warning sign. We were decelerating toward town, and got nailed for 38 at the sign. This is a 4 lane highway in a very small town. How did they get 30 MPH for a speed limit when bigger towns have 35 and 45 MPH limits?
