Marlkress Road near SE Gate Drive

Cherry Hill, New JerseyNov 30, 20072 Comments

Cruiser lurks near the island on SE Gate Drive, clocking cars driving past Marlkress Road. Speed limit drops from 45 to 25 when driving southwest on Marlkress (towards Kresson Road), and the SE Gate Drive crossing is shortly after the speed limit drop. This trap has been active for over 30 years and probably brought the town many thousands of dollars in revenue.

Comments:
The posted speed is 35 (not 45 in the posting) on Marlkress between Rte 70 and the end of the industrial area - beginning of the residential area. Yes, it is a location where the cops are out ot make some dollars.

Keep in mind that Marlkress Road was sold by Cherry Hill Township to Camden County. I d not beleive that the county ever enacted spped restrictions on Marlkress Road. If I were toget a ticket on Marlkress Road for speeding, I would make the prosecutrion prove that the posted speed signs are legal as far as the county is concerned, THEY ARE NOT. Thus, you now have the ammunition to beat theticket in court. The Judge won't like it, but he will have no choice.
