North and Southbound U.S. Hwy. 51 between Illinois State Univ. and Illinois Wesleyan
I’ve seen on multiple occasions police checking speed and making traffic stops (and also for possible DWI’s) between Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University around 8pm, and again between 12am and 2am. Specifically: near the hospital, the lot just north of 707 liquor store, and the mechanic near Apple Street. My radar detector always goes crazy around midnight, and 9 times out of 10, it’s a cop. They’re starting to use Laser now more than Ka band, so they have your speed.
