Bloomington, Illinois Speed Traps
Officers park on side streets Imperial Dr, Mays Dr, Fleetwood Dr or in the Ewing Park parking lot using radar
UNMARKED officer sits on Radliff Rd using radar on Fairway Dr
An officer will park his car in teh ISU parking lot next to Fairview and take radar. You will not notice his vehicle because it looks as if it’s just parked there. I’ve seen this on numerous of occassions.
I’ve seen on multiple occasions police checking speed and making traffic stops (and also for possible DWI’s) between Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University around 8pm, and again between 12am and 2am. Specifically: near the hospital, the lot just north of 707 liquor store, and the mechanic near Apple Street. My radar detector always goes crazy around midnight, and 9 times out of 10, it’s a cop. They’re starting to use Laser now more than Ka band, so they have your speed.
Multiple state troopers waiting on the Hwy 29 overpass, pulling over anyone on I-55 driving over the posted limit of 65mph.At 1:30pm on Saturday there were 6 troopers actively issuing tickets and at least 2 more waiting on the overpass.
