North Frederick Avenue near Montgomery Village Avenue
I was ticketed today doing 43 Mph in what, to my surprise (amazement?), was a *six lane road* (on both sides!) set at 30 Mph. This was after morning rush hour around 11 AM. Evidently the speed on 355 drops to 30 Mph as you enter the area near the Lake Forest mall. When I asked the officer why the absurdly slow speed for a such relativly empty, six lane road (i.e. elementary school near by?) he indicated a sharp uptick in accidents for the area due to all of the intesecting mall related ingress and egress. He noted a new and revitalized concentration of speed enforcement for this stretch of 355. Still, it felt awefuly exploitive as I was driving no faster then much of the general traffic patterns around me; and I would have never guessed 30 Mph for this leg of 355. So either pay diligent (virtualy nerotic?) attention to the varied and fluxuating speed limits when driving this stretch of 355 or invest in decent detector. I’m only posting this as the officer was clear that this leg of 355 would be receiving heightend attention in the days to come. Hopefully this will help some other law-abiding tax payer from unecessarilly shelling out hard earned cash as well.
